Kindness in Action

Good afternoon,

This week's R.E. lesson was recognizing and understanding the title of the Holy Spirit as The Helper...

I was going to green screen these clips, but, ironically, the sun was too bright on part of the screen, thus creating too much contrast for iMovie to cope with!

I'm guessing that the new camera will green screen better mid day, when the sun isn't streaming through the windows.

Scripture and Verse

Good evening,

As part of our familiarisation of the Bible, today we looked up different scripture references.

One of the privileges of a Catholic school!

Children tell your parents about it. Parents, ask your children about it.

Read Scripture Series: Letter to the Hebrews

Good evening,

Yesterday, I think it was...no, yesterday was Sunday! Must have been Friday. Anyhow, recently Room 3 were discussing the book of Hebrews. So, having just found this, I thought some might be interested...

Catch Up Tuesday

(Sorry, bit of a Room 3 post, this one...)

Good evening,

Today we furthered our Stats learning by converting the data that we collected on Friday morning...

...on the class question...

...of just how many are traveling by themselves in their motorcars?

Which, after a bit of Google Slides learning, produced this.

Turns out, quite a few.

So now, hopefully, the children will have a better idea of how to go about an investigation themselves.

Later in the morning, after some reading...

...we did a bit of prep for Freeze Framing and Talking Aloud with Room 12.

Who we joined after lunch.

This will help them get into character, so that they can write a personal experience from that character's perspective. Just like we've done for Flanders Field and Harry Hobnail and the Pungapeople.

And a good time was had by all.

Catholic Schools' Day @ OLA

Good afternoon,

It's been a great day here at school. We opened with OLA's part in the diocese' prayer circle as part of 2016's Catholic Schools' Day, and, as part of this day, St Bernadette's School came over for a visit.

And a good time was had by all!

Competitively Cooperative Monday

Good evening,

This morning kicked off with a bit of healthy competition...

...and continued with some jolly fine cooperation.

As well as a bit of sorting out for the next piece of R.E. learning.

Video-Response-To-Text Wednesday

Good afternoon,

It's been a fun old day here at school. What, with a bit of reading...

...and responding to text...with the help of Room 6...

...which we will use as a basis for writing on Friday.

And a good time was had by all!

May the fourth be with you!

Highlights

Good afternoon,

I got a new tie last night...

...but I digress.

This morning, today, as well as a weekly meditation...

...and reading...

...Kakarki shared a wee rap about their text from last week.

Monday's Post Tuesday

Oh, and something from Friday too...

My how the choir has grown!

Good evening,

Yesterday we participated in a way cool Values Assembly.

The whole school split up into teams of between 4 and 6 or so (depending how internet connectivity) and participated in a Kazoo quiz.

It was very cool to see the Batten Team so well represented in the top teams. Especially Room 3!

As for today, well, we math'd......

...and typed.

As well as the other usual stuff.
